Research Interests

Comprehension and readability of written drug information and its effect on compliance

Providing complex information to a general audience, in particular patient information about medicines

The effect of drug information and packaging in reducing the risk of medication errors


After beginning her professional life as a hospital pharmacist, Cathleen had a long career in the pharmaceutical industry, where her functional responsibilities over the years included medical information, medical writing, regulatory affairs, and pharmaceutical labeling and packaging. As an adjunct instructor she taught community college (undergraduate) and university students (graduate). Cathleen is a rated pilot (helicopters, hang gliders, paragliders).
